Skincare Favorites

Y’all know that I am obsessed with skin care! Yes, I still have days where the most I can manage is taking my makeup off before bed, but when I’m really on my skin care game, there are a few more steps to my routine!

I usually take my makeup off with a makeup wipe or Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway. Sometimes I even use both! I use the little spatula and place a dime sized amount on the tips of my fingers, then start rubbing the formula into my skin. I usually start with my cheeks or forehead and do my eye makeup last, as that’s usually the messiest. Then, I remove the oil and makeup with a wash cloth and warm water. My skin always feels moisturized and my makeup seems to come off effortlessly.

After I take my makeup off, I like to cleanse and exfoliate with my Purifying Micro-Scrub by The Seaweed Bath Co. This detoxing facial scrub is vegan and cruelty free, which are two of my favorite aspects about the product, but it makes my skin feel so fresh and clean! I wet my face with warm water, then use a dime sized amount of the facial scrub to exfoliate away dead skin cells and leave my skin looking and feeling refreshed! As if you need another reason to go to Target, (wink-wink) that just so happens to be where I picked up this ocean-inspired goodness!

If it’s morning or day time, I follow my cleanser with the Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream. This protein moisturizer is perfect for my skin when it’s oily, dry, or a combination of the two. I use one pump and apply in an upward motion all over my face and neck. My skin stays moisturized throughout the day without drying out or flaking after applying my makeup!

If it’s evening time, I like to follow my cleanser with the Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night Oil by Acure. (Yet another reason to go to Target!) This super soothing facial oil alleviates skin sensitivities and replenishes moisture, leaving my skin feeling smooth and supple when I wake up in the morning. It’s vegan and cruelty free, as well as free from parabens, phthalates, and sulfates. If you have a go-to night cream, you can actually apply this facial oil over the night cream for a little added moisture! I love it.

Once a week, I like to use my T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial by Drunk Elephant. If you’ve never used the TLC Sukari Babyfacial, it’s basically an AHA/BHA resurfacer for the skin, leaving behind clarify, radiance, and an improved skin texture. I don’t like to exfoliate when I know I’m planning to use this product – I just take my makeup off and use a gentle cleanser, then apply the TLC Sukari Babyfacial all over my face, avoiding my eyes. After about 20 minutes, I rinse it off and follow with the Blue Tansy Night Oil. I do steer clear of this product if I have sensitive blemishes or scrapes, etc. on my skin, as it tingles naturally, but freaking BURNS if I have open skin.

When I do end up with a stubborn blemish or two, I coat them with bareMinerals Blemish Remedy before I get into bed. This miracle serum contains salicylic acid that combats the bacteria in the blemish, while also calming my skin and helping to smooth out the texture around the problem area. I always wake up with smaller blemishes and little to no redness, thanks to Blemish Remedy. I’m super glad I found this product.

What are your favorite skin care brands and products? Do you have a holy grail product that you cannot live without? Tell me about it in the comments!
