Holla-holla & welcome to my blog ❤ If you know me, you probably know that I am a makeup FIEND! I am licensed in cosmetology, specializing in esthetics and makeup. Anyway, Ulta & Sephora are my weaknesses, like many other females I know. It’s not like I don’t already have enough makeup–but really, is there such thing as “enough makeup?” I think not. Today, I will be reviewing the newest additions to my makeup & skin care collection: GLAMGLOW GlowStarter Illuminating Moisturizer, Fenty Beauty Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, and the Winky Lux Kitten Palette (received in my November Boxycharm!) I have to say, these products easily became some of my favorite products in my hoard!
First up, Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturizer by GLAMGLOW. Now y’all, I am going to be honest–this is my very first GLAMGLOW purchase. I know, I know. Shocked? Whatev. I’ve heard of the GG mud masks, but my favorite mask is by Posh, so I just never cared….until now. I had my 15% off Beauty Insider coupon from Sephora, and I just so happened upon this moisturizer on the GLAMGLOW feature table. I’ve been using an oxygenated gel cream, but I didn’t feel like it was providing the moisture that I so desired during the day. My skin is pretty dry on my nose and sometimes on my chin, regardless of exfoliation. I purchased the shade Pearl, and I am never turning back! The GG moisturizer with vitamins, botanicals, hyaluronic acid, and added illuminating pearl particles not only provides serious moisture and creamy softness to your skin, but also leaves your skin with a radiant sheen. Did I mention that it smells amazing, too?! The scent is almost like Juicy Fruit bubblegum mixed with an orange creamsicle! It’s a little pricey (for me anyway) at $49, but the amount of product used in each application (PLUS THE SMELL) make it totally worth it. GLAMGLOW Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturizer gets a 10/10 from me 😉
Next up is…..the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation from the Fenty Beauty line by Rihanna. This one gets ALLLLLL the heart eyes, y’all. My go-to foundation is usually by PUR cosmetics, but recently I’ve been using the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer that I got <FO FREE!!> from Ulta! I’ve read some raving reviews on the Fenty foundation since the collection was launched, and I told myself I would finish out the foundations that I currently have, but…..I couldn’t wait. I have no self control. I’m sorry, mama. Y’ALL. I don’t usually go for matte foundations, because like I said earlier, my skin tends to be kind of dry. BUT Y’ALL. This foundation is a total game changer. The application is so smooth and the coverage is buildable and flawless. I applied mine with a brush this morning, buffing it into my skin. One layer covered my freckles and un-evenness in my skin tone, but two layers was TOTAL coverage, my preference. I didn’t take a photo <I know, I suck> but I told my mom this morning–my skin finally looked like I’ve wanted for so long. It was $34 (my usual is $39) and worth every single penny. As of now, Fenty is my favorite foundation. 10/10.
Finally, the Winky Lux Kitten Palette!! I received this fabulous palette in this month’s Boxycharm (don’t even get me started on Boxy—-best decision I’ve ever made!) and I am stoked about it. I’ve followed Winky Lux on Instagram for quite some time, but this is my first Winky Lux product. This brand is CRUELTY FREE, so that automatically gets them props from me. The Kitten Palette comes with nine incredible shades, including gorgeous nudes and pinks, but my favorite is the HOLOGRAPHIC shade ❤ called Holographic. All of the shadows are soft as silk <or as a kitten’s fur, should I say?> and so pigmented and easy to apply. This palette runs anywhere from $17-$30 online, but can be purchased on the Winky Lux website for $25. Lucky me, it came in my Boxycharm ($21 a month for 5-6 FULL SIZE products, y’all. Do it!) with a few other amazing products that you may see another review on soon 😉
