Coffee: A Cure For Anything

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

There’s not much in this world that I enjoy more than a cup of coffee and being curled up, reading books with my little guy. Thankfully, that’s just what this evening has consisted of. This week has been a killer so far, and we’re only halfway through. Monday, my car decided to boycott me on the way back from Cyan’s Halloween party at school. I had it towed to my dad’s shop to have the starter replaced, even though it was just replaced in the summer of 2016. Tuesday morning–the morning of Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year–I was in a car wreck on my way to work. A couple pulled out in front of me and attempted to make a left turn, while another car was in their way in the other lane. They ended up stopping and taking up half of my lane, and I just couldn’t miss them. Thankfully, none of us were hurt, but I can’t say I was loving the turn that this week seemed to be taking…..until today.

I picked Cyan up from school and we visited the book fair. Reading is our favorite thing to do together. I let him choose three books (okay, I chose one about a unicorn) and we made our way home. When we arrived, there was a box on my front steps. Trying to remember what I had ordered, I unlocked the door and hurried to the kitchen to see what was inside this mystery box! To my surprise, it was a bag of coffee beans! Coffee seriously makes everything better, but this wasn’t just any coffee–this was Certified Organic and Fair Trade coffee from Bravo Beans Coffee!

My lovely friend’s lovely mama sent me a bag of Novel Beans, a dark roast, whole bean coffee–perfect for my grinder and my tastebuds. Cyan dug into his Halloween candy while I ground up some of those glorious beans, my French press ready to brew. I poured a steaming cup and headed into the bedroom to read Cyan’s new books and enjoy my first cup of goodness. Y’all–I knew it was going to rock my world just from the smell of the beans, but this coffee was even better than I had imagined! It was dark, robust, and nothing short of delicious. My first sip brought a smile to my face, even more-so knowing that the coffee was Fair Trade. I finished my cup, read Cyan’s new books, and poured a second cup before snuggling up under a warm blanket with my sweet boy and fur babes.

Some people say that coffee is best enjoyed in the morning, but I say that it’s perfect for any time of day. Sip away the bad days or celebrate the good–I truly believe that coffee makes everything better.

Check out my new favorite blend and experience its goodness for yourself at! (The name is so fitting–Bravo!)

  1. I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your blog. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Great work!
